Election Key Dates


The February / March election period will elect officers and representatives to serve for the 2011/2012 academic year. To see the available positions, click here.

To nominate yourself for one of the posts, click here to fill in an online nomination form. You will need the names and student numbers of five other students who will support you in your campaign.

We will be going around as many University buildings as we can during this week to provide information, answer any questions and generally be available for a chat about the elections and the positions which will be available. You can catch us at the following places:

Nominations Open


Nominations for all posts will open on this date. In order to nominate yourself, you will need to fill in the online application form by clicking here,  or by handing in a completed nomination form to any SU Office.

Candidate Briefing @ 6.30pm in the Rumblin' Tum (cafe), Cockroft Building, Moulsecoomb


All students who have nominated themselves for election will be expected to attend this briefing, where we will give you more important information about standing for election and help with your campaign.
16th February

Publicity Deadline


We must have recieved all candidates' election publicity by this date. The election publicity needed is a photo of yourself (As a JPEG, BMP etc.), your manifesto (Around 250 words) and an election statement / slogan (Around 10 words).

15th February

Candidate Video Recording


As a candidate, you will have the opportunity to record a one minute video, where you can talk about why you want to stand for election, the key points from your manifesto and generally trying to encourage other students to vote for you!
28th February

Voting Opens for Academic, Campus and Activities Zone Reps


This is the first day of voting for all non-executive positions within Brighton SU. Voting will be done online at StudentCentral.

Candidate Question Time and Results of non-executive election announced


Candidate Question Time is a chance for anyone to quiz the candidates standing for Executive Officer positions about why they are standing for election and what they plan to do should they get the post. All students are welcome to attend. The results from the first, non-executive election will also be announced during this event.
14th March

Voting Opens for Executive Positions (full and part time posts)


This is the first day of voting for all executive positions within Brighton SU. Voting will be done online at StudentCentral.
17th March

Voting for Executives Closes
