The NUS is in turmoil. What once was a powerful campaigning union that put students and their interests at heart has now sold us out under the label of ‘change.’ Fees are on the increase, and our government chooses to put our taxes into unjust wars instead of spending money where it is needed at home – on education and the NHS.
We need to send a strong message to NUS Conference in 2010, saying that we will not allow the cap to be raised on tuition fees, after all, education is a right, not a privilege.
If elected I will speak up at conference and make sure this message is widely heard, that our discontent is voiced at how the NUS is currently letting the government walk all over it. WE, the students, the masses are the ones that hold the power, lets make sure we use it.
