NUS CD Sam Mallender

My name is Sam Mallender and I am standing for NUS conference delegate. I’ll keep this manifesto short as I imagine you’ve had enough of reading long ones! NUS conference is a national conference that happens once a year and is where motions are debated and policy is passed that come from student unions all across the country. It is of great importance that Brighton students are represented at a national level, not just the local; as the policy passed there can then go on to affect our students here in Brighton.

I feel I’d be a good representative of our university, and vote on what I believe is best for our students. I’ve had a years experience representing students as Women’s rep on our SU council, two years course rep experience, have previously worked as a front line member of staff in SU shops and office and feel well acquainted with the sports teams through my work with UNISEX’s Chlamydia Club Challenge. These experiences, I believe, mean I can give a fair representation of a cross section of our university population.

I’d love to have the opportunity to go to NUS conference this year, and if you believe I’d be a good representative of our university please vote me, Sam Mallender, number 1 for conference delegate online via student central between the 15th and 29th March.
