► NUS CD Ed Bending

My name is Ed Bending and I am running for NUS Conference Delegate in this years elections and I would like you to vote for me when the time comes! But why?

Firstly I was lucky enough to go along to the NUS Conference last year and see what it’s all about. This made me really interested in the national student movement and what’s going on at a national level.

I also saw what national conference at Brighton means to many of the delegate that have been sent in the past and I personally believe that many see it as a good excuse for a “piss up” which I believe to be wrong. Last year I was on the conference floor from the time it opened to the time it closed and due to that was a much better officer for Brighton SU this year. I understood what was going on around the country and how Brighton’s problems could be helped by looking at other examples around the country.

Also I am running for Vice President Wellbeing, a new area for Brighton SU, and an area where National NUS does a lot of work around the country. Therefore I feel it would be incredibly useful to be involved in the conference in order to help set up this zone for Brighton SU.

Finally I would like to be involved in selecting the National leaders for the student movement and from this find the direction that the NUS will be taking over the next 12 months on many important issues such as top up fees, sports initiations and housing related issues.

So please vote for me, Ed Bending, number 1 for NUS conference delegate and Vice President Wellbeing between 15th and 19th March.
