HCR Dean Armstrong

Election Statement: Offering- Realistic objectives, Realistic solutions for real issues relevant for students at UCH.

Manifesto

HI My name is Dean Armstrong and its student election time!!!

At election time people may come to you making promises and offering YOU things THEY think YOU want. I prefer not to do this. I prefer not to assume to know what YOU want. I prefer to be available to respond to your needs as and when they arise, this is the way I work and the way I will continue to work if re-elected. I will be Addressing real issues facing students, issues that are relevant to students!!!!

Real issues  ?

  • This year alone along with colleagues in the SU, we have put work into pushing  BURST radio to new ground through negotiating difficulties and accessing funds for students to  gain the expertise needed to make BURST radio successful for UCH students, and will continue to do so if re- elected.

  • I have organized and put into place extra curricular revision and study programs for students with experts in the field coming into to provide extra tuition and guidance with particular studies. This has been a particular success for students GRADES as well as with students and staff as well. I have been asked by students and staff to organize more programs of this kind, and will continue to do so.
  • I have helped students with advice and support on a number of issues affecting them- from International students with visa problems to students with personal grievances who needed help and came to us.

These are just some of the issues that face students at UCH on the ground that need to be dealt with. This year there will be a candidate who will hold the position of Entertainments chair for Hastings- Brighton UNI have responded to students want for more student focused entertainment. If re- elected I will continue to approach student’s needs and work closely with the future entertainments officer on providing great events and nights out. Through the Hastings society any funds needed to be accessed can be done through the Hastings society – which is a society in place at the UCH to respond to any student imitative that needs funding or support quickly and effectively, and will continue to do so..

I aim to focus on student related issues and not to become too involved with high sounding causes that don’t actually address what students came to UCH for-

    1. To study
    2. To be successful
    3. To have fun

Vote Dean Armstrong.
