Welcome to sports at the University of Brighton. Taking part in sports activities can be one of the best and easiest ways to get settled into your new surroundings. It can also mean instant friendships which can last a lifetime. We hope that sport can play an important role in your university lifestyle. It is also a great way to get away from all that study providing you a great balance and promotes a healthy lifestyle. As well as joining the gym or taking a swim you can also get involved in one of the many student run clubs at the university.

2011/12 Induction Sessions:
This is your chance to either have a go at a variety of sports on offer at the University. Some of the clubs use these sessions as trials for the more competitive teams. Find each clubs contact details by looking at their page on this website.

Some of the clubs here can be found competing every week against other universities in the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Leagues (formally called BUSA). Click here to get more information from their website.
sportbrighton also runs a programme called Parklife. This offers you a chance to take part in sport on a more casual and fun bases. Information on Parklife can be found here.
Not only can you get involved in playing sport you can also become a sports volunteer. This can be using your skills with a sport brighton club such as web design, coaching or officiating. We can also provide you with opportunities to volunteer locally in sport. This could be leading activities for children and young people to helping disadvantaged groups.
Finally you should soon become aware that the University of Brighton has its very own mascot. Panther Pete is often busy supporting Brighton clubs and teams. Go Panthers!
