Intermit from your course

Sometimes it is necessary to take time out from you course for a variety of reasons; personal, academic or financial. The University are generally sympathetic and provide the course is continuing to run without major changes it is usually possible to take time out and return at the point at which you left, usually a year later.

In the first instance you may want to discuss the decision with your personal tutor, course leader or the SARS team nt68@brighton.ac.uk once you have made the decision you will need to let your course leader, Student Loan Company and LEA know of your decision in writing including the date when you intend to return.

Whilst intercalating most students are not entitled to welfare benefits unless they are carers or have a disability see www.brighton.ac.uk/thinkingofleaving or contact Student Service Advice Centre on 01273 642888 for further details. Intercalating students are entitled to council tax exemption but a certificate must be applied for.

Whilst intercalating it is possible to access some University services; student central, library some contact with your Course Leader for a fee of £280 for a full year (2009/10 price.)
