NUS Extra is the premium discount and membership card for students. The NUS Extra Card helps you to make the most of student life.

When is the 2010/11 NUS Extra card available?

The fantastic new 2010/2011 NUS Extra card will be launched on Thursday 5th August 2010 and with lots of great discounts and savings to be made you're not going to want to be without one.  

What are the benefits?

A range of exclusive discounts worth hundreds of pounds plus offers and competitions have been negotiated for NUS Extra members. More offers are being added by the week to the discount pages on

These are just some of the great discounts available to cardholders so you can see an NUS Extra card will help you save some serious cash throughout the year.
Don't forget NUS Extra will also get you lots of discounts in shops, clubs, restaurants, local travel in Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings and across the UK.

Who is eligible?


Only students can get hold of an NUS Extra Card. The 2010/11 Card will launch on Thursday 05 Aug and you can order your card online at www.nusextra.co.uk from that date onwards. The cost for the card is £11 for a year's subscription Remember for an extra £1.99 you can upgrade to have the International Student Identity Card added to your Extra Card. This will get you 40,000 discounts all over the world!

The NUS Extra card has a set validity of 5 August to 31 August the following year. The card is not valid for one year from the date of purchase. The green 2009/10 NUS Extra card is valid until 31 August 2010. The 2010/11 NUS Extra card is valid until 31 August 2011

Cardholders can expect to save a lot of money and enjoy other great opportunities such as competitions and exclusives. Discounts and deals have been arranged to support all students be they are under 21, mature or international students. You can be sure to save the initial investment  many times over.


How can I get an NUS Extra card?

From Thursday 05 August visit www.nusextra.co.uk, you will need:

  • a Visa or debit card
  • a digital photo of yourself to upload, or you can use a web cam. Then just follow the instructions and your card will be waiting for you at your chosen SU office when you arrive at Uni. 

What will I need to pick up my card?

You will be able to pick your card up from your chosen SU office from Monday 27 September. You will need:

  • Your Unicard
    You will need to provide proof that you are a student. Other acceptable ID is your University invitation to enrol letter or your letter from Student Accommodation
