1.How can I buy an NUS Extra Card?
All you need to do is log on to www.nusextra.co.uk. You will need a credit or debit card and a photo of your face that you can load on to the NUS Extra site. This can be done simply with a digital camera or you can scan a photo in and upload as an image. Then follow the simple instructions and make sure you choose the SU Office you want your card delivered to. Within 10 working days your card will be waiting for you and you can take advantage of all the excellent deals and discounts available.

2. What are the benefits of buying an NUS Extra card?
You get discounted rates to any club nights arranged by Brighton Students' Union (UBSU) and you can use this student ID across the whole of the UK - so great when you go home for the holidays and saves you serious money on local and national student discounts both in person and online. Find out more at www.nusextra.co.uk. The NUS Extra card makes you a member of the National Union of Students, which on a national level campaigns for the rights of all students in the UK and assists with training, campaigns, events and so much more...to find out more visit the website at: www.nusonline.co.uk

3. I have lost my NUS Extra Card how can I replace it?
You can replace your NUS Extra card by logging in with your username and password at www.nusextra.co.uk and following the instructions. You won’t have to load up a new photo as this is already in your account. Your new card should be delivered to the SU office of your choice in ten working days.

4. Does the Union have its own nightclub or bars on campus?
The Union does not have its own nightclub or bar on campus. The reason for this is that as a split site University SU we don’t have the resources available to have a venue on each site. Furthermore, each campus cannot generally support a venue (as there are not enough students to make it viable) which means that money which needs to be spent on support services, such as academic advice, clubs and societies would lose out as money spent on a failing bar/club would take money away from these non-commercial services. However, the SU works in close collaboration with the numerous pubs, clubs and venues in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings to ensure that you can have access to some of the best clubs and pubs in the country at a student price. This ensures that unlike other single campus Universities who may only have a couple of venues we work with a multitude of venues who can provide events for almost every type of student. Imagine how boring it would get if you only go to the same student venue every time, so you can see the benefits of us focussing our energies into working with entertainment venues and professionals. Finally, for those of you who live on campus we make sure the University sticks to its commitment of ensuring that there are decent social spaces for students, and will continue to lobby the University to provide more.
