The Sab Team are elected to be the full time representatives of students and are the main day to day decision makers of Brighton SU. Each Officer works on a specific area of Union activity. Sabbatical Officers work at the highest level where decisions are being made and make an informed contribution both inside and outside the University for the benefit of all students at The University of Brighton.
Terry Preston
Union President
Terry is the Union’s figurehead, Chair of the Board of Trustees, lead representative on the University’s Board of Governors, and Brighton SU’s national spokesperson. Terry is responsible for making sure Brighton SU is working and winning for all Brighton students.

Martin Clayton
Vice President Campus & Communications
Martin is the managing editor of all Union publications and our link with all student media. He leads initiatives to ensure your learning and living, working and study environments are as good as they possibly can be.

Vice President Wellbeing
Ed is the lead officer on all issues relating to the wellbeing of students within the University. He’s responsible for developing policies, actions and campaigns informed by students’ needs to enhance the quality of student life and making sure there is appropriate support for those students who need it.

Vice President Academic Affairs
Amy is the lead officer for furthering students’ academic interests. She promotes and develops opportunities for students to shape and inform all areas of the University and works to make sure your degree is as good as it possibly can be.

Katie is responsible for making sure there are sporting, social and volunteering opportunities for all students who want them, across all campuses and partner colleges. After all, University should be fulfilling and fun and offer more than just a qualification.
