The CaSH Action Team relies on student volunteers to deliver our busy programme of campaign work throughout the year because we believe that a peer-led approach makes our work more fun, engaging and effective.
As a member of the CaSH Action Team you can:
If you're enthusiastic, friendly, open-minded with an interest in health promotion then we are looking for you to help us make our University communities happier, healthier and safer.
To find out what is involved in campaign work, click here for the job description and take a look at our list of previous campaigns. There is usually both evening and daytime work so we can be very flexible.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone who is a student at the University of Brighton or the University of Sussex can volunteer with us . Full training is provided, so you don’t need to have any experience or previous knowledge about sexual health. However, you do need to be open-minded, non-judgemental and have a good understanding of the student lifestyle.
For a volunteer person specification, click here.
If you're a University of Brighton student you can also earn CPD credits for your course by volunteering with us.
How to volunteer?
To register your interest in becoming a CaSH Outreach volunteer please complete and return this registration form to sexualhealth@brighton.ac.uk . If you experience any trouble opening the above files, just email sexualhealth@brighton.ac.uk to register your interest and we will send you a copy of the form to complete.
In additon, if you are a University of Sussex student you will need to register with Project V (your on campus volunteering opportunity service). You do this by having a short meeting with Project V in which you let them know that it is the CaSH Action Team you are interested in volunteering with and provide them with our Reference ID - 637. You can make an appoinment by emailing projectv@sussex.ac.uk with your chosen appoinment time (click here to find a slot).
Once you are fully registered you will be invited to attend one of our evening training sessions. This will give you an introduction to health promotion, STIs, contraception and an understanding of the way we work, plus all the skills you need to deliver effective outreach. To fully 'qualify' as a CaSH Outreach Volunteer you are required to volunteer at, at least two outreach events within a month of your training date. The next training session will be:
