Now in their 2nd year these awards are a celebration of the staff and students who make the University of Brighton so special.

During February & March you have the opportunity to nominate those staff and students who have made a real difference to your learning & academic experience for awards.

Students can nominate staff for the following awards:

• ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - The tutor who has helped me to achieve more than I ever thought possible
  
  
• TEACHING AWARD FOR ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT - The most engaging lecturer who is exciting, enthusiastic and dynamic, and makes the difficult easy.
  
  
• SUPPORT STAFF AWARD - INDIVIDUAL - The member of support (non-academic) staff who has really helped my learning
  

• SUPPORT STAFF AWARD - GROUP - The team/group/members of support (non-academic) staff who have really helped my learning
  
  
• 21st CENTURY TEACHING AWARD - The tutor who makes the most innovative use of technology in their teaching
  
  
• THE ‘MASTERMIND OF STUDENT CENTRAL’ AWARD - The lecturer who uses Student Central to effectively engage students with their learning.
  
  
• INSPIRATIONAL TEACHING AWARD - The tutor who has inspired me and set my imagination and interest on fire.

There are several different categories of awards - you can nominate members of staff in one, some or all the award categories as long as you are eligible.

Students and staff can nominate Course Reps for this award.

There will be a Course Rep of the Year award made for each school and partner college.

Let us know if you think your Course Rep has really engaged with their role, made a difference to your course and should be considered for this award.

All nominations received by 5pm on Monday 19th March will be considered by a judging panel comprised of students, university and Students' Union staff.

The winners and those highly commended will be informed of their success at the beginning of May.

The Brighton Students' Union Excellence Awards Ceremony will be held to celebrate their achievements on the evening of Wednesday 23rd May.
